What to Expect from Labor

labor

Pregnancy and labor is a very special stage in a woman's life. The trouble is that although it's completely natural, not many people know what is going to happen.

Every pregnancy is different, and this means that labor will feel different for every woman. It's difficult to predict anything.

That's why we've created this guide to show you what to expect from labor.

First and foremost, pregnancy and labor are both very demanding on the woman's body. There are many changes, both physical and hormonal, which can put stresses on any relationship.

It's important that the mother joins childbirth classes so that she can be sure what she needs to do. These classes can be a great way to learn about pains, the stages of labor, and pain management.

What to Expect from Labor

Every pregnancy is different, and this means that labor will feel different for every woman. It's difficult to predict anything. Just because you have been told a due date by your doctor, it doesn't actually mean that your baby has the same plans.

There are, however, some signs that you can use to decide whether or not you are in labor. If you're not sure then you can discuss things with your doctor.

I never chose all 4 of my deliveries, going on 5, to be c-sections, but it’s less stressful on me and the baby……………………..we always end upn healthy and well.

If I think about it too much I start getting panicky! But I just try to remember that no matter if I have it naturally as planned, or end up taking the pain meds, or have to have a C-section, the end result is all the same. I will get to meet my little boy finally!

Very excited to meet my little angle. Scared about labor

  9. I am so scared. Scared of having the baby and of being a mom. I just want to the best mom I can. I don’t want to be like my parents and I just hope that I can be everything he needs. The labor scares me, but mostly I am afraid of actually giving birth.

I am scared but also excited about meeting my new baby.

Im really not as scared to go into labor as i should be i think! I really don’t worry about it i just can’t wait to meet my Little Boy! Plus i was diagnosed with gestational diabetes and im a smaller person weighing only 110lbs before pregnancy so more than likely im going to have to be induced early with the likely chance of having a c-section. And i dont know if im crazy but im still not worried about labor or the recovery of the c-section. The only thing i am worried about is that if i have to have my baby early i wont get to bring him home with me and il have to leave him at the hospital! Which would devastate me!

  12. Anber says:

Very scared but really excited to go through an experience I have never been through.

  16. Chely says:

    THE LESS YOU THINK ABOUT THE PAIN YOU WONT FEEEL IT ITS WHAT I heARD1..> (;

  17. Angelwings says:

Deep breathing helps relax pain, something I discovered whenever my nerve gets crushed by dislocating my shoulder.

  18. Angelwings says:

I was told when your stomach hardens up and muscle spasms happen at regular intervals that’s a good sign of starting stage 1 of labor. Just know your body and listen to it. 🙂

  19. I hope to have a natural birth. Hopefully no complications.

  20. Julie says:

I am scared about the actual labor process, but I am so ready for our baby girl to get here.

  21. sarah bannen says:

iam very scared for being a 1st time mom but i know i can do it just the part iam scared of is knowing when your in labor or not and all anyone can say is that you will know how when your body already hurt?

  22. Lisa says:

a little scared… but ready to meet her.

  23. Ashlye says:

Im also ready to meet my lil baby boy but im not ready for the labor it takes to get there!! But ive accepted that its not gona be a cake walk and its coming whether I like it or not! Im gona try to go into it headstrong and not go into it as a victim because goin into it with a level head and telling myself "I can do this" im sure the process and the outcome will be alot better than it would be if i went into it feeling sorry for myself!! LOL. Im sure its gona be hard and not very pleasant but it doesnt last forever and its sooooo worth it because the outcome is getting to meet my precious lil angel!!! Good luck all of you first time moms!! Your not alone and I wish all of you a safe and healthy labor and a healthy lil bundle of joy!!
