10 Wardrobe Pieces That Will Stand the Test of Time

Fashion trends come and go, but some pieces never go out of style. Stock your closet with higher-end versions of these staples, because they will last years. Then, each season, you can update these staples with cheaper, trendier pieces.

A well-fitting pair of dark wash jeans never goes out of style.

Suit
Suit pieces can be worn together or separately to work, interviews, and events requiring conservative dress.

You can even wear them in casual settings. You can change the look of your suit by wearing it with different blouses, camisoles, and sweaters. Buy a neutral color in a seasonless fabric, so you can wear it anytime, and with any color or print. Take your suit to a tailor, so he or she can do what's necessary to make it the best fit possible for your body.

Pencil Skirt
A knee-length pencil skirt is classy, sexy, and flattering on virtually every body type. If you are uncomfortable with a slim fit, choose a knee-length skirt with a straight or slightly A-line silhouette. The skirt should fit comfortably around your hips and thighs, without bunching. A tailor can alter the waist, if necessary.

Black Pants
Black pants are classic and appropriate for most occasions. For a flattering and timeless look, pants should fit at your hips and thighs, and then drape straight to the floor. Buy pants that fit the largest part of your body, and then take them to a tailor to alter or hem as necessary. Unless you only wear flats or very high heels, buy your pants in a length that will accommodate three-inch heels for maximum versatility.

Dark Wash Jeans
While trends, colors, and cuts of jeans change seasonally, a well-fitting pair of dark wash jeans never goes out of style. For most women, a mid-rise, straight leg jean is the most flattering style. Avoid brightly colored stitching and other trendy details. It's usually necessary to try on many brands and styles of jeans to find the right pair. Remember you can have an “almost right” pair tailored.

Blouse
Whether you prefer classic, white cotton or frilly, printed silk, every woman should have a nice blouse that can be worn with black pants, jeans, or a suit. Invest in one nice blouse, and make sure it fits well and expresses your style!

I need to buy new black little dress. The one that I have is so little and a bit skimpy! I feel it wont fit in me anymore even if I seriously do some crunches 🙂
