Top Tricks for Getting Pregnant

Preconception Checkups

Get a general checkup and a gynecological exam to ensure you are in good health before you try to conceive. Your doctors will find any problems that may make it difficult to conceive or may put you or your baby in jeopardy when you become pregnant. Discuss any medication you take and whether you should stop. Visit the dentist. Gum disease is associated with some pregnancy complications.

If you see a psychologist, discuss your intent to get pregnant and any stress or sleeping problems you may be experiencing, as they can interfere with conception and could be damaging when you conceive.

Get Healthy

Follow your doctors’ suggestions to get healthy. Reach and maintain a healthy weight – being over or underweight can affect your hormones and make your periods irregular, making it difficult to conceive. It is important to eat healthy and remain active while pregnant, and there is no better time to start than now. If you smoke, drink or use drugs, stop now – it can be detrimental to your fertility and dangerous if you do conceive. Take prenatal vitamins for at least three months before trying to get pregnant to build up vitamins and nutrients a baby needs during early pregnancy.

I think one other tool to conceive, would be to meditate. I use to do this when I was deciding/imagining/contemplating having a child. I wanted to have healthy organs for conception and carrying a babe, so I would put my hands over my abdomen/ovary area and meditate! For one, it felt good, relaxing and calming. For two, I believe it was a valuable tool and practice for a happy healthy pregnancy for me 🙂
