The secret to keeping your little bundle of joy feeling happy, cozy, secure and sleeping is swaddling.

Swaddling — a method of wrapping infants that’s both ancient and modern. This practice, used worldwide for thousands of years, is also endorsed by today’s leading baby experts.

“Tight swaddling is the cornerstone of calming, the essential first step in soothing your fussy baby and keeping him soothed,” says Harvey Karp, M.D., a renowned pediatrician and the author of The Happiest Baby on the Block.

Swaddling soothes newborns and helps babies sleep because it mimics the safe environment of the womb. Numerous studies have shown that when done properly, this technique offers babies many health benefits:

  • Swaddling baby calms the nervous system and reduces crying.
  • Swaddling baby allows her to fall asleep more easily and stay asleep longer.
  • Swaddling baby helps her retain body heat so she stays warm and comfortable.
  • Swaddling baby aids in recovery from painful stimuli, such as shots.Swaddling baby lowers the risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).

My LO loved it when I used to swaddle him but on occasion, he would overheat and the swaddle would restrict his movement. And so, as I was researching on how to solve that issue, people were talking about the Zipadee-Zip from Sleeping Baby. It seemed kind of like a hoax at first, but I tried it and it really works. This sleeping suit is breathable so my little guy doesn’t overheat and it’s flexible enough for him that he can move around.

Most important having the baby on a schedule giving the baby a warn bath and massage after bath then a warm bottle. I kid you not your baby will sleep all night or if not longer than usual! This comes from old people. people don’t even give babies warm bottles anymore. we eat oyr food warm.

My son loves being swaddled. The only problem he has is that he likes to wiggle his little hands out.. Swaddling was the best thing I could have learned long before my little one was here. I love the pre-made swaddling blankets not only is it easier when your in a hurry, it helps dad and others who arent familiar with swaddling.

swaddling is fine for a newborn but once the baby starts moving the hands and legs, it is impossible to swaddle. My 11 week old, comes out of his swaddle as soon as we do that:(
