Weight Loss Tips from Celebrity Moms
Ever wonder how those svelte celebrity moms seem to snap right back to their pre-baby shape almost immediately? If you thought it was because of a bevy of nannies, chefs and personal trainers, you … probably aren't wrong. However, many of Hollywood's hottest moms have shared some tips that are pretty practical.
Learn some secrets from a few celebrity moms that may help you lose the last few pounds of that post-baby weight.
Jessica Alba is mom to two gorgeous girls, she is also a wife, an actress, and a business owner. She slimmed down after both her pregnancies beginning a few weeks after the births by starting small and combining her efforts. “Start with walking, and throw in 3 sets of lunges 20 per leg … You could even do it while strolling your baby,” Jessica suggested.
Involve your kids
Healthy eating and fitness aren't just for you — your healthy habits can lay a great foundation for your children, too. Plus, including your older children into your workout (or doing workouts that they can enjoy, as well) can help you fit exercise into your life. Miranda Kerr, mom of 3-year-old Flynn, loves to bust a move with her little boy. “We dance all the time, he loves it. It’s one of his favorite things.” He's also interested in some of her tastier health habits. “The other day he was like, ‘Mama, I want to make a smoothie.’ He wanted to make his own smoothie, and then he said, ‘This one’s for you. It’s full of antioxidants',” Miranda said.
You might not believe it by looking at her now, but Kourtney Kardashian felt the stress of having a perfect body after the birth of her first child, Mason. After she gained 45 pounds during her pregnancy with daughter Penelope, Kourtney decided to lose the baby weight slowly so she wouldn't take time away from her children. Her secret? Early morning workouts. “Sometimes I think, Why should I work out when I can spend time with my kids? I feel guilty doing something for me. So working out at home is really nice. And when I don't do that, I go for a jog or do morning yoga.”
Choose the right diet
Weight loss is more than fad diets and exercising until you can't walk — it's about developing and maintaining a healthy lifestyle and changing your eating and fitness habits for good. Jessica Simpson, actress, mom of two, and Weight Watchers spokeswoman, has been on a weight-loss roller coaster for several years. She recently unveiled a stunning 70 pound weight loss, achieved with the help of Weight Watchers and a healthy diet. Her diet features a healthy mix of high-quality proteins like salmon and chicken, and lots of fresh vegetables. To her, the change has made her stronger. “I have a newfound determination that I'm really proud of,” Jessica said.
Set a goal
Jennifer Lopez gained 50 pounds during her pregnancy with twins Max and Emme, and started slow with her weight loss by walking regularly. But because JLo is, well, JLo, she had to step it up by training for a triathlon, four months after her babies were born. Maybe you aren't ready for a triathlon, but setting a goal for your weight loss is a great way to stay motivated, whether it's running a 5k or fitting into your pre-baby jeans before your birthday.
