Shout Out To Dads: Thanks for Being Awesome
They're not moms, sure, but that doesn't mean they're not doing good work when it comes to raising up happy, smart, real life babies.
I know for certain that I appreciate the dad helping me raise my Dudes.
He brings a certain type of fun and knowledge and perspective and experience to the parenting table that, without him, I probably wouldn't even consider (because no, I don't really get why the mesh undies in swim trunks are so evil).
So, while I'm not going to hand over the most awesome parental torch to him just yet, I will say that he holds his own and some days, some times, in some moments, may even a teeny bit have the upper hand. Fine, he's better, sometimes, he just is.
10 Times I Was Happy My Dudes Have Their Awesome Dad
When they got out their sticks and wanted to fight.
When we're at an amusement park and I can really just be all, “Ride with your dad.”
Pretty much every single time it snows.
When it came time to buy their first athletic supporter.
When they got those swords from the Renaissance Fair.
When they wanted to do that paint ball party. Or that ninja one where we needed 700 handmade ninja throwing stars and I didn't even need to look on Pinterest because, duh, dads already know how to make throwing stars.
When they have to go to the bathroom at the stadium. For the 10th time. And I don't have to take them.
When it came time to build the Death Star Lego ship thing. Because no thank you to 36 hours of Lego building.
When roughhousing started to hurt.
When I really just want to get a mani pedi all by myself and I can suggest a “dude' day”.Read More
