Ever since becoming a mom nearly seven years ago, New Year's Eve has changed a lot. Gone are the carefree days of dressing up for a night on the town with friends and crawling into bed in the wee hours of the morning. Let's not talk about the fact that the morning after effects from having a bit too much fun are a lot worse with kids.

Since my children are still fairly young, my husband and I typically opt to stay home as a family for New Year's Eve. Many of our friends do the same. Here are some family-friendly ideas for this New Year's Eve.
