Fun Ideas for New Year’s Eve with Kids
Ever since becoming a mom nearly seven years ago, New Year's Eve has changed a lot. Gone are the carefree days of dressing up for a night on the town with friends and crawling into bed in the wee hours of the morning. Let's not talk about the fact that the morning after effects from having a bit too much fun are a lot worse with kids.
Since my children are still fairly young, my husband and I typically opt to stay home as a family for New Year's Eve. Many of our friends do the same. Here are some family-friendly ideas for this New Year's Eve.
We order Chinese food, do a countdown to bedtime, and DVR the NYE shows for our daughter to watch the next morning. We also purchase a few New Year's Eve accessories. – Shaun McGahey
We make rootbeer floats on New Year's Eve and watch a movie at home. – Laura Maloney Kopack
We make ice cream sundaes, hang out in our pajamas, watch movies and camp out in the living room for the night. – Melissa Meserve
We make noise, listen to music, watch the ball drop, get the sparklers, and just have FUN! Our kids love to toast with sparkling apple cider while watching the ball drop. – Rose Powell
My family goes bowling, then heads home for pajams, board games, and hot cocoa to watch the ball drop. – Amanda Santamore
