Cooking With Kids: Good Morning Popsicles

Popsicles for breakfast? You got it! These Good Morning Pops are packed with all the nutrients your little ones need to start the day. Bonus? You're going to love them, too.

The first thing you need to do is dig out your trusty popsicle molds. Any type will work. If you don't have popsicle molds handy, try using a metal cupcake pan and popsicle sticks.

Yield
6 Good Morning Pops (This will vary depending on the type of molds used.)
Ingredients
1 1/2 cups plain yogurt
1 cup nutty granola (I love to use a nutty granola because it adds a kick of protein to my popsicles.)
1 banana
10 strawberries
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 spoonful honey

Slice your banana and cut up your strawberries. (I found my 3-year-old was totally capable of using a butter knife to complete this step on her own!)

Add the honey and vanilla extract to the plain yogurt. Stir well.

Add one small spoonful of yogurt into each mold. (Adding a bit of yogurt first helps the popsicle to stick together.)
Continue to layer the granola, fruit, and remaining yogurt however you and your child would like. (Don't be skimpy with the granola, it's the best part!)
To finish off your popsicles, add a small spoonful of yogurt into the molds (again, this adds stability). Tap each mold gently on the counter to remove and air bubbles.

Freeze your popsicles overnight.
Wake up to an amazingly delicious and balanced breakfast. Make sure your child gets to tell the whole family that they made it herself!
