5 Ways You Can Play with Your Baby Who is Too Young to Do Anything

When you bring your baby home from the hospital and you've settled in at home, you may quickly realize that, well, your baby doesn't do much.
That's totally normal, and it will change faster than you realize. But in the meantime, what are you supposed to do with your baby?
Your baby isn't ready to play soccer or have hobbies and activities of their own, but there are some ways you can play with your baby who is really too young do to anything else right now.

Sing and dance.
Singing and dancing may make you feel like you're being a little strange, but your baby will love it. They will be lulled by your singing and your movements, and some bonuses are you're getting your heart rate up and you're both having fun.

Read a book.
You can't start too early when it comes to helping your children foster their love for reading. When you have a baby, even reading with them is like play time because they'll be interested in at least hearing your voice, no matter the story. If you want to read kid books, you can, or you can even just read the novel you've been wanting to dive into — they won't care!

Teach sign language.
There are some huge benefits to teaching your child sign language! While they're not going to understand what you're doing just yet, they watch everything you do, and once it does click with them, it will come on quickly.

Exercise.
If you've been wanting to get your exercise on, your baby can have fun with you while you do your thing. There are many exercises available that you can do together that will engage your baby and entertain them while you're able to do something just for you.

Do house chores.
It doesn't sound like play to you, but your baby will feel like you're interacting and playing together, and you will get some tidying done at the same time. Put on a baby carrier or hold your baby in your arms and chat about everything you're doing. You may feel like you've lost your mind a bit and you're talking to yourself, but your baby will have fun with it.
