5 Apps to Help You Get Through Bedrest
For moms on bed rest, it can be hard to balance doing what's right for your baby and, well, going crazy.
It may not seem like you're working, but working on staying healthy for your baby is still very much work. To make it through your time on bed rest, here are some apps that might make your time resting and working at the same time a little bit easier.
The website Social Driver recommended a few great apps when Kate Middleton famously went on bedrest for a short time while suffering from hyperemesis gravidum. Some of my favorites? The Baby Pool app, that allows family and friends to place bets on stats like height, weight, and due date and Babyface, which lets you mix characteristics to predict what your baby will look like. It might make waiting just a little bit more fun.
I may sound old here, but PBS has some amazing shows for free. When I discovered that I could watch all the episodes of Call the Midwife on PBS for free, my life was pretty much made. Get the PBS app here and watch all the great shows for free.
You may think this app is just for young people, but it's an app that is changing the landscape of business and people. It can be so much fun, and personally, I think following my favorite magazines on SnapChat is a lot of fun, too.
Periscope is widely addicting, and unlike a lot of social media, that has carefully edited images, Periscope is live and unedited (mostly, although I'm sure someone out there has professional videos), and it's refreshing to use.
You can watch live news happening right in front of you or follow other mothers in your situation, and you can broadcast your own news right from the hospital bed if you want. Download it here.
