When you bring a newborn home, and you're deep in that “I swear I will never sleep again” phase, finding the good can be hard. Getting to know a new baby, healing from pregnancy and birth, plus dealing with sleep deprivation and a total hormone overload, you can definitely say that newborns can seem totally overwhelming.

With my 4th baby, even though I had been through the phase many times before, the newborn part still threw me for a loop, and I wondered if the hard parts were ever going to ease out.

They do — I promise things get easier. I try not to wish time away because there are so many amazing things about newborn babies, and if you need a little reminder for the good if you're battling the hard, I get it.

Everything

“Everything! But seriously, as their mother, it's the way they look at you — like you are the world. In a way, we are. I loved looking back and letting them know they were my everything — still are. Oh, and they they smell like green apples and rain.” — Deborah

The Newness

Fresh Eyes
