The summer heat is here, and that means it's the season for the maxi dress! I was introduced to this amazing fashion last summer when I was in the first trimester and had all sorts of weird wardrobe issues. I don't like to be hot, and being bloated, feeling queasy, and having to wear pants was not my favorite thing ever.

Then someone said, “Hey, why aren't you wearing a maxi dress?” and my life changed. I picked up a few because I was willing to try anything at that point and I never looked back. I lived in these dresses throughout my pregnancy and they were appropriate in any fashion situation – depending on how you accessorized. These dresses are lightweight, which makes them awesome for the unsettled stomach in the heat, and they grow with your belly, making them long-lasting and super functional.

The budget I have preparing for baby, I am shopping maternity at Old Navy and Target. I may also try Wal-Mart’s online clearance for around the house pieces that are not as stylish but will get me through the summer. These are great options for hiding the extra 50 pounds I’ve gained so far.
