The Big Book of Parenting Tweets is a brand new, just out today, illustrated collection of 300+ tweet jokes, real-kid conversations, and snarky one-liners from more than thirty of the most hilarious Twitter comedians to ever change a diaper. It was curated by Kate Hall of Hall of Tweets, edited by Norine Dworkin-McDaniel and Jessica Ziegler of Science of Parenthood, and illustrated by Jessica Ziegler.

As I flipped through my copy of The Big Book of Parenting Tweets, I just couldn't stop laughing. There really is so much funny stuff out there and I can attest to the fact that Hall, Dworkin-McDaniel, and Ziegler did the work of cherry picking only the most hilarious tweets, the ones that will have you laughing out loud.

This isn't surprising in the least. These three ladies do humor for a living.

But what might surprise you is that they created this collection in just four weeks — from concept to copies-for-sale including the tweet selection, illustrations and layout of the book, copy editing and proof-reading.

What made this possible besides crazy efficiency and an excellent work ethic? The ladies attribute it to the genius of the humor found on Twitter. Ziegler says, “Twitter is really the perfect vehicle for humor because with only 140 characters available to you, you really have to distill your joke down to its perfect comedy essence.”

The collection is so ridiculously fun to read because it's so down to earth, real, and relatable. Dworkin-McDaniel explains that the editors voted for the tweets based on hilarity alone. She says, “There was one criteria: Did it make us laugh? Out loud? Scream? As a result, we got a really dynamic mix of voices –both moms and dads –and parenting topics.”

I can't recommend this fun book enough. The only warning I have for you is that once you start reading it, you won't want to stop. So get your copy today – and pick one up for a friend – and be ready to just laugh nice and loud. Because if there's one thing we parents need a whole lot of in our lives, it's laughter.

Hey, hey, hey… they aren’t ALL by women. Sure, the women in this book write great jokes but I have 11 tweets in there (@Cheeseboy22) and they’re only slightly less funny than the women’s.

    • Galit Breen says:

Abe! Ohmygoodness, I laughed so much at this comment! YES! All the tweets are fabulous and are by men & women, but I couldn’t use them all, so women reigned! That’s ok, right? Love yours a ridiculous amount, too, and congrats on the book!!
