Sleeping Like a Baby

baby with mom sleeping

Whoever came up with the phrase “sleeping like a baby,” obviously didn't have one. Maybe you're one of the “lucky ones,” but most of us have lost a few hours of sleep caring for our baby.

As your baby grows, you're probably wondering when you might expect a night of uninterrupted sleep. Of course, in the earliest days, your baby may need to feed once during the night. However, by 3-4 months, most babies have dropped their nighttime feedings.

We are lucky… our little guy sleeps 10+ at night, and soothes himself back to sleep if/when he does wake up!

I need a routine. She has always been really good about sleeping through the night, its the getting there that is the hardest.

A good routine throughout the day and night will effect the baby’s sleep pattern tremendously.

A good night sleep, my mom told me would come after I change the babies sleep cycle. Try to keep him up in the evening so he will sleep longer at night. That was her advice< she said that if I did that and stuck with it, I could nudge him into a night sleeper .

I kept my baby close to my bed at night, but during the day I kept the babies near the living room area. It is better to let them be come familiar with some sounds of activity so they can be close to you without disrupting the babies system.

My little girl seems to be going through the same thing! About two weeks ago, she was sleeping 6 hours straight. Now, it feels like I’m lucky if she’s down for two and a half hour stretches. Between switching to her own room/crib, growth spurts and teething, it’s hard to tell what the culprit is. All I know is that I’m tired!!!

My son is 15 weeks old and up untill two days ago has been sleeping through the night. I am not sure if he is going through a growth spurt or because he is getting over a cold, but he has been waking up 2-3 times a night. Any suggestions?
