How Going Green Can Save Money and Be Economical Too
If you thought going green is an expensive option, think again. Being eco-friendly does not always translate into spending money. Here are five ways going green can actually save money.
Go Green and Save on Fuel
Fuel consumption not only dents the budget but also affects the planet adversely too. According to Diane Gow McDilda in The Everything Green Living Book, “Drivers take 1.1 billion trips every day.” Imagine the savings if you reduced just one trip a day! Save money, get healthy, and go green by walking or cycling more and using the car less. Opt for carpools and public transport when commuting to work or taking the kids to school.
Eco-friendly Ways to Save on Groceries
Going green does not only mean buying organic, although that is always preferable. However, if you’d like to be eco-friendly and economical, you can opt to buy fresh produce from the local farmer’s market, rather than exotic or imported fruits and vegetables that have traveled long distances to reach your store. Moreover, buy more fresh produce and less packaged and processed foods.
