Why You Won’t Get to See the Kardashian Birth
So, you might be aware that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West joined the wonderful world of parenthood this past week. Baby girl West or Kardashian — no official word on the name yet — came five weeks early, you can read about the details in my fellow blogger Amanda’s blog post last week.
Fans of the reality show Keeping Up With The Kardashians might be holding their breath to view the birth in all its glory; unfortunately, it does not look like you all will get your wish. According to reports, the film crew was on hand when Kim went into labor and followed the mom-to-be to the hospital in anticipation of filming the birth.
Their plans went south, though, when dad-to-be Kanye West showed up and kicked the crew out. Kanye has been adamant throughout the pregnancy that this baby’s birth, life, and pictures will not be sold to the highest bidder. He stood his ground and now reality fans all over are certain to be disappointed.
It seems odd to me that someone who literally cashes in on every little event in her life would allow someone to tell her what to do in regards to her baby. I do not disagree with Kanye though, I have always said that making money off your child is wrong and I respect that he wants to preserve the privacy of his child. I also think this is something that Kim will be grateful for in the long run. I mean, let’s be serious here, no one looks great when giving birth.
You lose all sense of modesty, decorum, and self-awareness when you are trying to push a baby out. I am forever thankful I do not have any of my births memorialized on film in any way. I remember what the experience was like; I do not need to look back on pictures or video that shows my sweating, screaming, and bleeding all over. If Kim does want to relive her birth experience, it seems that mom Kris Jenner was allowed to tape some portions of the birth for family use only.
Are you disappointed you will not see the birth? Did you tape your births?
