Twin Stories That Will Make You Do a Double-Take
Nothing illustrates the phrase “they're just like two peas in a pod” like twins! They finish each other's sentences, they'll switch places for a day just to give their teachers a tough time, and they are most certainly there for each other when one is pushed up against a wall. I have siblings that are twins, and they brought to our home double the mess, double the mayhem, double the amount of vigilance, double the fun, and double the love. I'm pretty sure that those of you out there that have twins or are a twin can agree with that sentiment.
The interwebs have been pretty excited about twins as of late. We've got the classic story of twins that meet up 26 years later after being separated at birth; there's a story about twin brothers that decided to put extreme dieting to the test; and there's another story about how the twins from The Shining got together for a “BFI anniversary screening of Kubrick’s Dr. Strangelove: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb.”
Together at last
Just last year, Anaïs, a French student studying fashion, was watching a video on YouTube when she saw something strangely familiar. Samantha, the actress in the video that Anaïs was watching, looked almost exactly like herself. Using Facebook as the stalking tool that it can be, Anaïs found out that they were both adopted as children, and that they both shared the same birthday. Interesting … Here's the rest of the story. It's actually pretty fascinating! They went to some crazy lengths to see each other again.
A Tale of Two Diets
Twin brothers Chris and Alexander were asked to participate in an experiment to see what really is the cause of weight gain and how to better manage one's weight. Because they are twins, they have identical DNA, making them the perfect guinea pigs for this type of experiment. Wanna know what conclusion they came to? Read the story here.
For those of you who have seen The Shining, I'm pretty sure that the twin girls are characters that you don't easily forget. Am I right? Well, at the “BFI anniversary screening of Kubrick’s Dr. Strangelove: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb,” those twins gals showed up, looking just as cozy with each other as they did in the movie. Here's the full story. Read some of the comments—they're pretty funny!
