Who Did You Tell First? Moms Share Who They Told About Their Pregnancy First

There’s no news bigger than baby news (or baby-to-be news)! While some moms prefer to keep their pregnancy quiet for as long as possible, other moms would rather shout it from the rooftops! We asked women around the United States who they told first (and when they told them) after they found out they were expecting. Check out what they said below!

“My husband knew before I did, he actually told me! I had taken the test but was too nervous to look, so I asked him to. When he told me there was a plus sign I almost didn’t believe him!”

Krysta

“I told my mom before I told anyone else. I wanted to surprise my boyfriend and needed someone to help me figure out what to buy to tell him. We ended up wrapping up a baby blanket and I told him later that day.”

“I was with my best friend when I took the test and told her as soon as I saw the line. I was not planning for a baby, so having her there made me feel better. She gave me a big hug and told me I was going to be a great mom and I would love my baby. A year later I can tell you she was right. I love my son more than the world and couldn’t imagine life without him!”

“Other than my husband, my boss was the first person to know. I hadn’t planned on telling work until I was at least 12 weeks, but I had really bad morning sickness. After I left a meeting in a hurry twice in a week, I figured it was a good idea to let me boss know what was up. She was really excited for me!”

Hanna

“I told my sister before I told anyone else. She’s always been there for me and we tell each other everything. She was the only one that knew we were trying so it felt special to be able to tell her that her first niece or nephew was on the way! We’re not finding out if it’s a boy or girl, but I plan to have her in the delivery room when I give birth this fall so she’ll be the first to know that, too.”

Arielle

“I told the cashier at Target before I even told my husband! I took the test and was planning to tell him that evening. When I went to Target the nice cashier asked me if I had any kids and I was so excited I couldn’t help but spill the beans.”
