Parents, we need to start taking care of ourselves. Between shuttling kids here and there, midnight feedings, sleepless nights, keeping up a house, working, and taking care of everyone else, we need a break.

It’s OK to do things for yourself, it really is, because sometimes you just need some time to take a moment to shut your brain off and meditate for a while. Take time to relax or fulfill something on your bucket list and make time to catch up with good friends. Maybe even try something new like…

Asking for help can be difficult at times because we tend to think that we have to do everything by ourselves, but sometimes we can’t, and that’s OK. Who do you turn to when you need help? Your parents? Your friends? Your neighbors?

Did you know that sleep plays a key component not only in our happiness, but in the happiness of our relationships? It’s true. That is why getting rest it so important. Resting for just fifteen minutes is better than nothing.

When we are happy with ourselves, it seems easier to flourish in other aspects in our lives—our relationships get better, and we’re better, happier parents.

Taking a moment for myself would include sipping a cup of coffee while reading something. Be it article, ebook, magazine or blogs out there. I look for good read articles to enrich my knowledge on a topic. Lately it’s about parenting and finances. I also take time to write a journal. How our day goes and what milestones did we reach. These simpes things meant a lot to me and make me feel happy 🙂
