Spreading St. Patrick’s Day Luck with Handmade Mini-Care Packages {Tutorial included}

st patricks day package

St. Patrick’s Day is all about crafting and creativity. It’s a day inundated by fantastical imagery – rainbows, four leaf clovers, leprechauns, and pots of gold just to name a few. I am a fan! I devotedly wear green every year, and my pinching fingers are always prepared for the unenthusiastic. But, I think the importance in this day lies less in the pounds of chocolate coins, tacky head bands, and green everything. There’s something special and highly underrated about a day to share luck.

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized that luck isn’t this magical force that will grant you all of your desires; it is a power of unrelenting support. The luck o’ the Irish is a reminder of all of the love and encouragement of my family and friends that gets me through the day. They are the drive to my ambition, the reason why I am where I am. On this day, take a moment to reflect on all of the good fortune that surrounds you. In the spirit of good ol’ St. Patrick, why not take a moment to send some luck to others with a sweet mini care package?

The supplies are simple – all you need is:

Get your little leprechaun involved in assembling this magical package!  The process is just as important as the final masterpiece.

  • Send them on a scavenger hunt to find 3 lucky objects to share.
  • Then you can work together to write out a sweet message on the cardstock.
  • Stuff all of the contents in the envelope and add gold glitter for a little extra shine.
  • All that’s left is to address or choose the home to drop off your luck to loved ones!

Now get to work, you'll never plough a field by turning it over in your mind!
