5 Ways to Spoil a New Mama from Afar
If you’ve got a new mama in your life, chances are you want to do everything you can to help her feel loved as she transitions to motherhood. If you don’t live close by though, it can be tough to show her the kind of love you want to pass her way. While you can’t take away her exhaustion or help her heal from birth any faster, there are ways you can help her feel at ease, loved and supported, even from afar. Check out the ways below that you can spoil the new mama in your life.
Send her some love
When the new mama in your life that you want to take care of doesn't live close by there is nothing better than sending along a package of things you know will help her feel loved. Whether you throw together her favorite items and ship them yourself, or send her a beautifully put together basket of postpartum items, she’s sure to feel the love when she checks the mail.
Help around the house
Just because you’re not there to fold her laundry or take the trash out doesn't mean you can’t offer help around the house. Check her local listing for a cleaning or laundry services that will come to her and help her feel at ease at home without having to lift a finger.
Most cities, no matter the size, now have grocery delivery available. While it may not be a homemade meal, the new mama in your life that you want to spoil will surely appreciate it if you send a pint of her favorite ice cream or a sleeve of Oreo cookies her way! Depending on where she lives you may be able to order whole catered meals to her house and — if nothing else is available– you can always order her a pizza.
Keep her company
One of the toughest parts of new motherhood can be the middle of the night loneliness. While you might not be able to hold her hand as she grits her teeth through another nursing session, you CAN be available to talk or Facetime late at night when she might need the company the most.
If your sister, BFF, or sister-in-law just gave birth but lives too far for you to see her in person, consider these ways of sending your love and support as she takes care of her brand new bundle of joy!
