Cowell, Kanye, and More: Celeb Dads on Fatherhood
Let’s hear it for the boys! Celebrity mamas aren’t the only ones on baby duty these days. Check out the latest on the doting Celeb Dads of Hollywood.
Fatherhood may have arrived a bit unexpectedly for Simon Cowell, but that hasn’t tempered his baby joy. To catch EverydayFamily readers up to speed: Earlier in the year, news broke that New York socialite (and wife of Simon’s best friend) Lauren Silverman was pregnant with Simon Cowell's baby. After the news cycle (and Lauren’s divorce with ex-husband Andrew Silverman) settled, Simon was able to bask in the excitement of his first child. Cowell told Ellen DeGeneres, “Things happen and everything’s kind of calm now and I’m happy. In fact, I’m happier than I’ve ever been.” Cowell also noted that he didn’t blame the media for picking up on a juicy story, and admitted it was a “nightmare” for a few weeks following the revelation, but described his baby mama as a “great girl” – and one that has him laughing and smiling (yes, really! Check out the whole interview for a new side to the notoriously grumpy Simon!)

Kanye West has been somebody’s daddy for almost three months, and sources are saying he is starting to get the hang of fatherhood. Kanye has admitted his life has shifted since the birth of his daughter, North, with long-time love Kim Kardashian (the precious tot is the first for both of them.) “I have two really special people to live for – a whole family to live for…” he told Kris Jenner, Kim’s mother, on her now defunct talk show, Kris. A source told HollywoodLife.com Kanye is even pitching in with the little (but important) parts of parenthood – like the nighttime wakings! “If she cries in the middle of the night, he’s getting up, kissing her and patting her on the back until she goes back to sleep. And he loves it! [He] wants Kim to get all the sleep in the world.” Kanye is set to go back on the road for his “Yeezus” Tour on October 19, so Kim should get all the sleep she can, while she can!
Pregnancy isn’t always a walk in the park, and every pregnancy is different. Raging hormones, aches and pains, and that telltale waddle are all part of life for expecting mamas. Brian Austin Green, whose wife, Megan Fox, is expecting their second child together next year, knows how to deal with all those typical pregnancy complaints: Say yes to everything. “I just do whatever she asks for and I say ‘yes,’ no matter what it may be,” Green told PEOPLE at a recent event in Beverly Hills. “She did great the first time around, but I wouldn’t wish the experience on anybody… I couldn’t do it,” Green said of his wife of three years. Brian should write a book, and we already have the title: Just Say Yes: Dad’s Guide to Pregnancy.
