Yummy News! Celebrate National Peanut Month with These Treats

National Peanut Lover's Day is celebrated on March 15. It is one of at least 12 peanut-related holidays and happens to be part of National Peanut Month! And what better way to enjoy peanuts than as that ooey, gooey, tasty concoction of creamy (or crunchy!) peanut butter. As if we really need an excuse to eat peanut butter! Yum!

If you’ve got a toddler or preschooler you no doubt know that keeping a jar (or a few jars) of peanut butter on hand at all times is a good idea. Usually, even kids that turn their noses up at meat, cheese, veggies, and fruits will scarf down a PB&J in no time. While a traditional, delicious PB&J is never the wrong answer, there are all kinds of fun ways to enjoy this delicious spread with your tot. In honor of this tasty staple, why not try out one of the yummy, protein-packed recipes below.

PB Brownies

While regular chocolate brownies are yummy, adding peanut butter to the mix (literally) takes them up a notch. To make peanut butter brownies you can often just add a few scoops to a boxed mix but, if you’re an expert at-home chef try your hand at this simple recipe.

PB Cookies

If you’ve got a preschooler, you’ve probably got a little helper who loves measuring, pouring, and mixing and, chances are, there’s nothing they love mixing up more than cookies. This month, consider taking your babe shopping and making an afternoon of making peanut butter cookies.

PB+Oatmeal breakfast bars

If your mornings seem like a jam-packed rush to get out the door, you’d probably love having a grab and go breakfast ready. These yummy oatmeal breakfast bars can be made in advance and either refrigerated or frozen (depending on how long you want them to keep) until you’re ready to grab them and rush out the door. They’re yummy, yes, but they’re also filling enough to keep your kiddos going until snack time and you going until lunch.

PB Buckeyes

There’s no better treat for a gathering than peanut butter buckeyes. These treats are as simple to make as they are delicious. With just three ingredients you’ll be able to whip up enough to feed a crowd in no time.
