So you're driving down the road, windows rolled down, radio up, and belting out all the lyrics to the song on the radio. You then realize the man in the car next to you is looking and laughing at you, probably because you're jamming to the Wiggles and there isn't a single child in your car.

We have all been there, done that, right? Right?

I have on many occasions. Let's face it kids music is just catchy and upbeat. I polled moms through social media to share with us their favorite toddler music and here are the albums that get them singing along.

Julie from Life as a Leach loves the Barenaked Ladies' children's album, Snacktime! Her favorite song on the album is The Ninjas because the lyrics and premise of the song is absurd. Here are her favorite lyrics from the song:

I woke up this morning and everything was different
Something was strange in the air
I woke up this morning and everything was different
I knew that the ninjas had been there

Erica, who blogs over at No Sleep Till College loves the Mr. Steve and Miss Katie album, Are you ready? Here we go!. Her favorite songs from the album are “I'm Not Afraid of the Dark” and “The Sound of the Train.” She promises it's a fun album and bearable for parents who don't like kids music.

Another popular among kids and parents are the Signing Time albums. Allie from Home and Never Alone frequently catches herself singing the Baby Signing Time theme song. Her kids request the Signing Time music by name. My kids love the Signing Time albums too. A favorite in our house is Potty Time.

The Kidz Bop albums are another favorite for parents and kids. Shaun of Living with Peanut has a playlist on her phone for her daughter's music, including pop music such as Call Me Maybe, Gangnam Style, and Moves Like Jagger. Other music she enjoys with her daughter are Disney albums, including Tangled and Beauty and the Beast.

A very favorite of mine and many of my mom friends is Renee & Jeremy.  Their songs are fun, sweet and beautiful.  I love that they design their own album covers. My favorite bedtime songs by them are “Night Mantra” and “It's a Big World.” When I listen to their music the lyrics remind me that my children will only be this small for so long. I also love their cover songs, including the Red Hot Chili Peppers' “Give It Away” and Coldplay's “Yellow”.

Music is one of the most powerful tools that can have calming effects on children and adults. When I'm stressed or having a rather tough parenting day if I put on some music and have a dance party with my kids I instantly feel better. Next time your kids are running around like crazy animals, turn up the tunes and watch the magic happen.

What are your favorite children's musicians? What music gets your children dancing?
