Maybe, Baby: Celebrity Moms and Dads Talk Second (and Third) Kids
For those of you who have more than one child, did you find it more difficult to add babies to your brood? Country crooner Dierks Bentley has the perfect solution to wrangling multiple kiddos: divide and conquer! With the addition of new son, Knox, in October, Dierks Bentley and his wife, Cassidy, became a family of five (Knox joins big sisters Jordan, 2 ½ and Evalyn, 5.) Although life with three kids is more chaotic, the couple has dealt with it by spending time separately with their kids. “It’s kind of a drag, because we hate being apart, but that’s just the way it is right now,” Dierks told PEOPLE magazine at a recent event. Dierks told reporters he and his wife were “out-manned”, but said with the third child he knows what to do. “With my two girls, I was afraid every second they were going to fall down….this time I’ll [say] ‘It’s okay! You’re fine!'” Sound familiar, moms with multiple kids?
“I mean, honest, it consumes everything you do, every decision you make. Everything in life is completely turned upside down by this little guy.” – Nick Lachey
Maybe Dierks needs to give another celebrity dad, Nick Lachey, a pep talk about expanding a family. The singer, host and dad to 13-month-old Camden told PEOPLE that his son has been an “angel” and considers himself “incredibly blessed”, but copped to being rather unprepared for the huge change a child brings into your life. “I mean, honest, it consumes everything you do, every decision you make. Everything in life is completely turned upside down by this little guy.” Nick and his wife Vanessa want to add another baby to their little family, but want to wait a little longer. “It’s good to have enough separation that they can feel like they have their own identities.” You know, like the separate identities of Nick and his brother, Drew, who sang together in ‘90s pop band 98 degrees …
Baby number 2 is already on the way for fashion designer Rachel Zoe, who is expecting another bundle of joy with her husband, Rodger Berman, any day now. At a recent event, Rachel showed her pregnancy style one last time before going into “hibernation” until the baby is born. Rachel told US Weekly her second pregnancy was “wonderful” but that her exhaustion as a result of carrying a baby and caring for her 2-year-old Skyler, is catching up with her. “I’m tired … it’s really hard to get dressed up.” That’s why most of us “normal” pregnant moms are rocking the yoga pants and t-shirts!
Always the fashionista, Rachel Zoe said she was already planning her labor and delivery outfit (wha?) and her after-baby weight loss plan: nothing. “Chase a toddler and be a mother … being a mom is the best exercise!”
Ain’t that the truth!
