Maternity Style: Winter to Spring on a Budget
Soon the chill of the winter will be over- rest assured it will happen. After a long cold and drama filled winter, I'm sure many of you expecting moms out there are ready for spring to arrive.
Today I've styled three budget friendly looks that can be worn right now during these cold months by adding chunky sweaters, layering up with scarves and warm vests. This makes these outfits the perfect budget choice if your bump is just starting to grow in these later Winter months into Spring. Once Spring hits, replace those bulkier wardrobe pieces for some fabulous accessories to make a statement. The following tops and bottoms can be found at Old Navy for some seriously great prices.

- This slub-neck short sleeved tee is a great base and the kelly green color is timeless. Layer it up with a patterned scarf, top with your favorite denim jacket or dress it up with a blazer and statement necklace. It doesn't necessarily have to be worn casually. This look is paired with smooth panel skinny jeans. The comfortable fabric provides a smooth and sleek feel. By adding these colorful cluster earrings it will give you a Spring-ready look!
- A Henley tee is such a versatile top that can be worn on the most casual of days with a pair of Chuck Taylors or dress it up a bit with a fun pair of leopard flats and a simple pair of earrings. Add a belt at the top of your bump for some contrast and to dress it up if you're at the earlier stages of your pregnancy.
- The printed chiffon maternity blouse is the perfect top to glam it up for a night out with your girlfriends or your hubby. I've added a pair of boot cut jeans to the look and accessorized with a pair of art deco dangle earrings. I finished this monochromatic ensemble with a pair of gold tipped flats but a pair of heels would also be a nice choice. To give the outfit a little more glitz and glam add a fun statement necklace to the look. As you enter the Spring months, swap out the jeans for a maternity pencil-style skirt or skinny capri pants and sling-back sandals.
Seasonal maternity transitions don't have to be difficult. Always consider those wardrobe staples that are going to carry you through the seasons by layering up in the winter then swapping out those heavy layers for lighter pieces that will give your look a statement. Shopping Maternity departments at stores like Old Navy and Gap are sure to provide an endless selection at affordable prices. As always it's hard to imagine spending a ton of money on maternity clothing that you will only wear for such a short time. A basic long-sleeve tee can be styled so many different ways from ultra-casual to chic and polished. Look for those pieces that will really extend the life of your maternity wardrobe. Also, remember that throughout your pregnancy you can still make pre-pregnancy jackets and sweaters work for a good part of first and second trimesters.
