Maternity Seasonal Transition: Summer Looks to Fall
We've just celebrated Labor Day and do you know what that means? That's right, those temperatures are finally going to cool off a bit. That is music to an expectant mother's ears, I know. But don't give up the summer maternity wardrobe quite yet ladies. Because those skirts and incredibly comfortable tank tops (that you could live in), can still be put to good use. Today I'll show you how to transition four summer looks to carry you through those early fall days.
1. Just a plain, red knit skirt can go a long way when it comes to the comfort zone, so hold onto that skirt and basic white tank, but simply add a denim jacket. Wear with a pair of comfortable flats and you've got a casual look for fall; perfect for a day of running errands with the kids.
2. A fun and flirty printed skirt is a great summer staple, again carry it through the fall months by adding a denim jacket and a great pair of trendy booties to complete the look. This would be a perfect outfit for lunch out with the girls or movie night with the hubby.
3. This look would work well for a fun (and comfortable) day in the park with the kids and as a bonus those canvas shoes will make it a lot easier to chase the little ones around.
4. A long fleece sweater with a belt is the perfect option for those lazy days around the house, but it's also a look that will leave you ready to head out the door for a casual day out. Pair it with that maternity denim skirt from the summer and add a beige flat and you've created a perfectly comfortable look for fall.
Maternity shopping can become overwhelming when you think about dressing for all of the seasons, but just be aware of what is currently in your closet and you'll be surprised at how many looks you can easily create with pieces that you already own. Have fun by mixing and matching those current summer pieces and start by layering them using jackets, cardigan sweaters, and fabulous scarves to create new, fall-ready looks. Store away all of those cute sandals and replace them with Chuck Taylors or a trendy pair of booties. It doesn't have to be difficult or expensive, just take a quick inventory and go from there.
