Jessica Simpson Confirms Her Second Pregnancy

Many women strive to be as creative as possible when announcing they are pregnant. Jessica Simpson is no different; she posted a picture on Twitter of seven-month old Maxwell Drew in a Christmas outfit above the words “Big Sis” written in the sand. The songstress has been the subject of pregnancy rumors for the past few weeks, and has been seen wearing loose fitting clothes around town.

Part of the speculation was about her contract with Weight Watchers as a spokesperson; Simpson lost 60 pounds after her daughter’s birth. Weight Watchers has declined to comment on the rumors, it remains to be seen what they will do now that the pregnancy has been confirmed. Simpson and her fiancé Eric Johnson, had planned to get married after Simpson reached her goal weight, it is not known if those plans are on hold for now.

I feel for Jessica Simpson for a few reasons. First, it is a fiercely private matter to be pregnant and I think that people should be able to announce their pregnancy when and how they want, the fact that both times she has been pregnant, sources have leaked the news first is sad. Second, I know firsthand how hard it is to have two children so close together. My first and second children are only 16 months apart and it was extremely difficult for me both while I was pregnant and the first year or so of my second child’s life. It also does a number on your body. Simpson, who gained a large amount of weight with her first, may have an even harder time keeping her body in check so soon after having a child. In the end, I wish that her pregnancy is easy and that she experiences all of the joys every mother is entitled too.

How far apart are your children?

my oldest was 9 months old when i found out he was going to be a big brother… i now have a 2 year old and a 7 month old… 17 months apart exactly it was hard at first but i can tell its going to be more fun as the months and years give way. Defiantly a difficult start but every child is a blessing. <3

  2. Barbara says:

My children are separated as follows: Boy, 14 months, Girl, 20 months, Girl… She’s almost 4 months old now, and I am not sure how soon I want the next to come along. Kids are awesome, and they’re sweet and loving but I just don’t have much energy nowadays. For a couple months I had a 2-year-old, a 1-year-old, and a newborn. 🙂 Good luck to Jessica!

  3. Angela says:

My first was 9 months old when I got pregnant with my second, so they are a little under 18 months apart. And my second was 15 months when I got pregnant with my third. So in a few months I’ll have a 3yo a 2yo and a newborn….. yay! I feel for her. I couldn’t imagine my first pregnancy in the public spotlight, not to mention a second. My weight just went up, and my skin… my face broke out like there was no tomorrow with my second, and I was slowly in the process of getting it not so red when BAM! number three comes along, and brings it’s friend dry skin and acne… I hope this blows over soon for her, so she can concentrate on being a mother. Which is the reason we endure all the crap pregnancy does to our bodies to begin with.

  4. I am pregnant with my first and I can’t imagine doing this again, much less only months after this one is born. A friend of mine is also pregnant and she found out when her first was only five months old. I wish them both the best of luck and I know they will make it work.
