Jenna Fischer Loves Being a Mom
Before actress Jenna Fischer had children, she thought that it would not be all fun and good memories. She said her mind changed though during a recent appearance on The Jeff Probst Show. She says, “When I went into it I thought, ‘Okay, I bet it’s going to be really great 70 percent of the time, and then 30 percent of the time, you just have to get through it, and I was like, ‘I can do that, I can do that.’ I love it 100 percent of the time. I honestly do.”
She goes onto say, “I did not know that I had this much patience, I had really underestimated what I was capable of because, before I had him, I thought I needed things that I didn’t really need. I want nine hours of sleep, but it turns out I don’t need it!” She even says that the prospect of seeing her 16-month old Weston Lee gets her though her day, she says she is never even cranky!
Now I attribute this positive attitude to a few things, one she is a first time mom who is still enamored by her child and two, she likely has some help taking care of this bundle of joy while she works on The Office. I am pretty sure that if I had a nanny or millions of dollars at my disposal to hire a frequent caretaker, I would feel the same way. Do not get me wrong, I do not feel that motherhood is horrible; I love my kids and enjoy most moments I have when them. However, I would never say that motherhood is something I love 100% of the time.
When they were babies, yes I loved it; once they were toddlers I had days where I dreaded it and now that they are all preschool or older, I have days where I wonder if we are all going to make it out with some sanity intact. I wonder if she will change her tune when her toddler says no a million times or has a breakdown over the color socks offered.
Do you find motherhood something you love 100% of the time?
