It’s a Girl for Kelly Clarkson; Kate Gosselin Brings the Drama
Ahh, the relationship between a mother and her daughter – sweet, life-changing and sometimes, well, a little bit messy. Check out some of the latest mommy and me news from Hollywood!
When Kelly Clarkson announced her pregnancy, she made it absolutely clear she was thinking pink. And the soon-to-be mama is getting her wish! She will be welcoming a daughter with husband Brandon Blackstock this summer. Kelly discussed her debilitating morning sickness through her first trimester, even feeling close to losing her lunch during a performance on The Voice in December. She Tweeted Monday, “Just found out we’re having a girl officially! I knew it! Only a girl could cause this much drama with all this vomiting!” Hopefully Kelly and Brandon will have a few drama free years with their little lady!
Speaking of drama, did you catch the Kate Gosselin drama? Last week, Kate took her two oldest girls, twins Mady and Cara, on the Today show to discuss their lives in the spotlight – and Kate, who loves being the mouthpiece for the family (to put it kindly) got more than she bargained for. After Savannah Guthrie asked the twins if their lives are different than they appear on the small screen, the girls shut down, refusing to answer the hosts’ questions. Kate tried to feed the “company line” to Mady and Cara, but the damage was already done (watch the full video here.) We guess Kate didn’t get enough embarrassment, because she took her girls on The View on Monday for even more awkwardness from her teenage daughters. Barbara Walters asked Mady and Cara what they thought of their six siblings, and Mady paused. Kate pushed her for an answer and the teen responded, “You ruined my dramatic silence” to a shocked Kate! Wonder if this is the kind of drama Kelly Clarkson was expecting?
Any moms of little girls enjoy the occasional mommy and me date? Most moms take their daughters to tea, a nail salon, or on a shopping spree, but most moms aren’t Tina Fey. When you’re the daughter of an actress, your mommy and me dates are on the red carpet! Tina Fey brought her oldest daughter, Alice, as her date to the SAG Awards on Sunday. Alice wore an adorable dress with a black lace top and white pleated skirt, matching her mama who dressed in a black gown. Proving that the apple doesn’t’ fall too far from the tree, little Alice upstaged Tina during the show’s female actor in a comedy series nominee announcement by peeking behind her back and giving a big wave to the camera. Something tells us that this won’t be the last red carpet appearance for little Alice.
