We're a tech-savvy generation of parents! One of my husband's mottoes is the more information the better. These smart nursery devices help with just that. The appeal for me is definitely the “ease of life” factor that these smart nursery items bring to the table, because who wouldn't want to use something to make life as a new parent easier!?
Angelcare Movement and Sound Monitor: This product was recommended within our Facebook community, by Mandy T. and Laura B.
Mandy says, “Angelcare baby monitor. Goes under the mattress and an alarm sounds if baby stops breathing.”
Laura says, “I have one of those too love it! Used it on both my boys and will be using it on our daughter! Gives you a peace of mind.”
Do ice-cold wipes trigger unhappy cries during diaper changes? The Warm Glow Wipe Warmer by Munchkin will soothe baby's bottom and warm mom's heart. Help make diaper changing more enjoyable for your little one with the comfort of a warm wipe. This convenient wipe warming system stores up to 100 standard baby wipes and dispenses them conveniently from a flip-top lid. Its low-voltage, top-down warming system ensures a warm wipe every time without the risk of browning, drying, or discoloration. It also features a soft glow night light that helps with nighttime changes and automatically shuts off after 10 minutes of use. A built-in window allows you to keep tabs on your wipes supply without opening the unit, while the tightly sealing system keeps wipes moist over time.
This Amazon reviewer loves that this wipe warmer does exactly what it's supposed to do – warm wipes! Her special needs daughter also really loves it.
We already had a night light and sound machine prior to this handy device being released, so we purchased a separate OK-to-Wake clock for our now two-year-old and it has been working great! I would have loved to have had this handy all-in-one.
OR if you, like us, already have a night light and sound machine you like, you can just use a smart plug like Wemo Mini Smart Plug to get them turned on at the right time. Control from anywhere. Plug in a WeMo Mini Smart Plug, download the free app, control your lights and appliances from your smartphone or tablet. Only needs Wi-Fi. No hub or subscription required.
We wrote a recent post on why every mom needs a Roomba, and it really does seem like the perfect smart items to keep baby's nursery floor clean, along with every other room in the house.
The Roomba 650 Vacuum Cleaning Robot provides a thorough clean, all at the push of a button. It easily picks up dust, pet hair, and large debris like cereal. Preset your Roomba to clean when it’s convenient for you, so you can keep up with everyday messes. Roomba works on all floor types, and at just 3.6 inches tall, is specifically designed to fit under most furniture, beds, and kickboards.
If you've ever wished for an extra hand, here it is. A diaper pail that easily opens with a foot pedal and keeps those smells contained until you can take out the trash.
Everything you need, right on your wrist. From pregnancy onward, track fetal movements, doctor’s appointments and more. Once baby arrives, it becomes the nanny you’ve always hoped for with feeding time reminders and weight monitoring, all while simultaneously tracking mom’s health and wellness. The Project Nursery SmartBand syncs easily to your smartphone to track all of these things and more with an incredible battery life of up to 30 days. It’s a great way to make sure mom and baby are healthy and happy.
This Amazon reviewer praises how the Smart Band is easy to use, has tons of features, and reminders!
We have this thermostat in our home and love it, something I never thought I'd say about a thermostat. It has a touch-screen, comes with several sensors so you can know the temp in multiple rooms (like baby's nursery), can be managed from your phone, you can set a temperature schedule, and has other neat features like vacation mode. It's pretty fancy and it's nice to be able to see how warm or cool it is in our son's room since it's on the second floor where the house gets the warmest and adjust the whole house accordingly.
You must have had the experience of bumping into wall or furniture when you walk around your house in the middle of the night. These Night Lights are designed to release you from these troubles. They emit enough light for you to walk around in the dark safely without having to turn on any overhead lights, but they are not too bright as to be distracting.
This Amazon reviewer included a picture showing the difference between the warm and cool light options available, and recommendations on which rooms to use them in!
