Introducing the EF CARES Charity Spotlight

“Do your little bit of good where you are; it's those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world.”

― Desmond Tutu

We’ve worked hard to create a bit of good here at EverydayFamily. We’re committed to giving back to the community, not only through our resources and information on the site, but through working with various charities to improve the lives of families everywhere.

On our EverydayFamily CARES page you can see some of the many great organizations that it has been our privilege to support. But as a small family company, we know that there are many more organizations out there doing great work – and we want to know about and be a part of helping as many as we can. As our founder and CEO Noah Anderson says, “We have an incredible platform to be able to reach an engaged and passionate audience with our message.  I am extremely excited about the opportunity to help bring awareness to the many wonderful causes that are important both to the EF family and to our community members.”

Each day, we want to keep you informed and entertained; but more than that, we want to keep you inspired. Since you do so much to inspire us, we’re asking for your help. We’re beginning a new blog to put a spotlight on some of our favorite charities, and we’re hoping to get to know more about some of yours. Whether you’ve been a faithful volunteer for years or you’ve just discovered an organization that you’re really excited about – we want to hear more!

We’ll be featuring various organizations, letting you know more about the work they do, the families they help, and the great ways that you can get involved.

Let’s put our good together and do something truly great. Please take a moment to comment and let us know your favorite organization and why you’d love to see them featured here at EverydayFamily.

With a BS in English Education and an MA in English Literature, words – and their ability to shape our lives and thoughts – are an everyday fascination. Af ... More

Children’s Hunger Fund. http://www.chfus.org They help families and children locally and around the world. And, unlike most non-profit organizations, 99% of donations go to the people they help and they only use 1% for operational costs (i.e. Salaries). Other similar non-profits operate off 40-60%. Volunteers are key to this organization and there are a lot of great ways to get involved throughout the year.

As you can read on my blog, I do a bit of everything from collecting diapers and formula for babies in Juarez Mexico (where the mom can typically only afford a diaper a week and is too malnourished to breastfeed), sew reusable feminine hygiene products for women in impoverished countries so they can continue school and avoid sexual assault, rescue dogs that are hours from being euthanized, get homeless people off the street…..I help wherever and whenever I can 😀

What type of charity work are you talking about? I ask because I am the founder of a Facebook charity called Knitted with Love and I knit stuffed toys for children with medical challenges, like cancer, premature birth, autism, etc. I also recently added two more people to knit small blankets for parents who have lost a child with that child’s name on it as well as crafting little angels to go with it. These toys have helped many children so far.

Helping hands helping hearts. It’s for an orphanage in Honduras started by a young lady when she was 16.
