Get the Maternity Look: Jennifer Love Hewitt
Jennifer Love Hewitt is expecting her first child with fiance and co-star of the Lifetime television series, The Client List, Brian Hallisay in early December. Jennifer is known for a down to earth style that we can relate to, she's often seen in a comfy jean look. Now that Jennifer is expecting, she's working smart with pieces that will take her into fall with a few simple steps. Recently, she was seen out and about in this casual ensemble of a white tank and fun “Peace” maxi skirt and an unexpected pink pair of Keds.
Today I'll recreate this look for you and also demonstrate how you can transition this cool summer look to fall because, if you're like Jennifer, you only have a few short months left and having to purchase a fall/winter maternity wardrobe isn't ideal.
This is such a simple look to pull together with a basic white maternity tank and red maxi skirt. I've always said the plain white tank is probably one of the most versatile pieces of clothing you could possibly own, with endless possibilities ranging from pajamas to the office. This particular maxi skirt that I've chosen for the recreation is not a maternity skirt, however with its elastic waistband it would be ideal to wear low around the waist and would work for many months of your pregnancy. I've added a pair of pink Keds like the shoes that Jennifer is wearing and completed the look with a fun straw hat which creates a perfect look for the last of those warm summer days.
Bring this look into the cooler fall months by simply adding a denim jacket and give it a little autumn flair with a gold and brown tassel necklace. You could either wear a comfortable pair of All-Star's to give yourself a sporty look or swap them out for a great pair of ballet flats or wedges to step it up a notch for date night or girls night out.
I encourage you to hold onto some of those summer pieces as a base to create new looks for fall. Don't be afraid to try new looks by mixing and matching to maximize what you already own. Throw on scarves, chunky sweaters, and fun jackets that you can always wear postpartum. This will ensure your money is invested well, rather than a temporary spending spree.
