Get the Look! Kim Kardashian

Reality TV star and first time mom-to-be, Kim Kardashian has been seen embracing her curvy baby figure with a few ensembles most of us would not think to put together while pregnant. Kim has received a lot of criticism over her pregnancy weight gain and I think that's very unfortunate.  Our bodies change dramatically to accommodate a living breathing human being and it goes without saying – pregnancy is not easy, famous or not.

I admire the fact that Kim is dressing her body to show off her full baby figure.  While I'm not crazy about all of the maternity fashion choices she has made I thought this black dress, topped with a blazer and a fabulous pair of white stiletto sandals with feather detail suited her well.  Today I'll be recreating an inexpensive version of Kim's outfit for you.

For the recreation of Kim's look, I've started with a Liz Lange, a popular maternity brand available at Target.  It's a belted maternity dress that offers a very chic and elegant style with its boat neck and classic A-line fit.  It would be perfect on its own without the addition of the blazer for an evening out or worn with the blazer for work, just change the shoes to a lower heel or ballet flat.

I've added a maternity blazer that has pleats at the back which will give the illusion of a waistline.  The Mom 2 Mom blazer is a classic cut with multiple pleats, a button front and slightly dropped hem in the front that would be perfect worn open with this dress to replicate Kim's look.

For the shoes I've chosen a pair of ALDO Lillian sandals in white.  If heels are uncomfortable for you, by all means a pair of lovely ivory or white wedges or sandals would work perfectly for this look as well.  Kim's accessories were minimal so I included a pair of delicate rhea bangles and a pair of wayferer sunglasses to complete the look.

The dress and blazer are two great pieces to incorporate into your maternity wardrobe, they are versatile pieces that can be re-worked for a variety of occassions just by changing up the accessories. This is important considering we're only wearing our maternity wardrobe for a limited time, am I right ladies? By picking up a few staples like this blazer and black dress, you can really expand on your maternity looks.
