5 Great Things About Taking Baby on Vacation

We all know that vacations after baby are very, very different than vacations pre-baby. Before you had a little tag along on your vacations they were probably full of restful mornings, long days of adventure and relaxation, and evenings full of laughter and joy with friends or family.

Post-baby, those restful mornings have probably transformed into mornings filled with rocking and feeding and caring and those long days of adventure and relaxation are now punctuated by a naptime fussiness and diaper changes. While there’s a lot to complain about when it comes to vacationing with little ones, we don’t often hear or think about all the good that comes with traveling with babies and young children. Check out the best things about taking a baby on vacation below!

Seeing your baby experience something new

Whether it’s the feeling of sand between their toes or the rush of waves towards their ankles, there’s nothing quite like watching your baby’s face light up as they experience something for the first time. This summer, as you vacation with your baby, look for those little moments of awe and you’ll realize how worth it it was to haul all your baby gear on vacation.

Witnessing ‘firsts’ somewhere special

Babies are full of firsts. First words, first steps, and first teeth. When you’re on vacation with a baby it’s likely that they’ll experience some sort of first while you're traveling and when you look back on their first year you’ll happily remember their first occurring somewhere special.

Discovering new things with a baby in tow

While everything a baby discovers is new to them you have likely seen most of what’s to see in your hometown. When you’re on vacation you’ll get the chance to try new things and have experiences you haven't had before, which will be a helpful reminder that adventure doesn't stop when a baby arrives.

Showing your tot the world

There’s nothing quite like taking your baby somewhere new and watching that experience become a part of their life experience. When you expose your babe to new cultures and ways of life they’ll grow into open-minded, adventurous people who love to travel themselves!

Coming home

While you might have dreaded coming back from vacation in your pre-baby life, once you have a little one that homecoming will start to feel really nice. While getting out into the world and going on new adventures is special, there’s no place like home. When you have a little one you’ll appreciate coming back to familiar territory and settling back into your regular routine.
