12 of EverydayFamily’s Favorite Things – Last Minute Gifts for Family
The holidays are around the corner and if any of you are like many of us, you are a procrastinator. Who has time to shop with life happening around you all the time? Between diapers and carpool, sometimes it can be hard to make a decision about what to get Aunt Lucy or your Dad for the holidays.
So, in an effort to help you along with your last minute perusing of stores or online sites – we thought we'd ask our blogging team for their ‘Favorite Things' this holiday season for gifting.
Kind of like Oprah…but not as glamorous.
1.) As a food-centric family we always enjoy new kitchen gadgets as Christmas gifts. We find, they bring the family together around the table and around homemade food, and what can be better really!! Here is an item on my list this year – Cuisinart Stainless-Steel Ice Cream Maker. I can already envision fun summer memories being made around bowls of homemade ice cream!

2.) I love mugs. They’re great for coffee, tea, chocolate milk – you name it. There is something homey and comforting about a mug – the weight in your hand, the curve of the handle. I’m hoping someone gifts me with one of Pottery Barn’s Alphabet Mugs this year. I can see myself with some tea and my Kindle, cuddled up on the couch while the kids run screaming around the living room. Ah, well – you can’t have it all, right? Oh, and at only $10 a pop with each one unique, I know several people who will be getting their own from yours truly!

3.) I can dare to dream about one day owning this camera, the Olympus PEN E-P3. With touchscreen point-and-shoot, it's exactly what I need to have beautiful pictures without taking a class. Of course the class would probably be cheaper. Go figure.

4.) I picked up the ChicNova Retro Leather Messenger Bag as a gift for my sister who's a teacher and an aspiring photographer. This bag will fit all her stuff perfectly and still be fashionable.
~Alison Lee, First Year Blogger
5.) I love Kubix 100 Building Slates for my toddler, as he loves building and stacking. This is a fun, colorful and bright set that will be fun for both kids and adults!
~Alison Lee, First Year Blogger
6.) In Philadelphia, where I'm from, there's nothing more iconic than a Philly cheese steak. This onesie is a nod to a steak with cheeze wiz. Plus, I love the colors.
~Liz Henry, Mom, Myself and I Blogger
7.) I love that One Hope Wine has not only amazing wines, but that they donate 50% of their profits to charities. In fact, they've raised over $1,000,000 for a wide range of charity organizations! It's a great way to give – in more ways than one – and feel good about doing it.
~Natalie Hoage, Child Development Blogger
8.) I love this Smart Tools iPad Set from Williams-Sonoma. It includes a stand, a Bluetooth speaker and a screen shield. I love that you can set the stand on top of the speaker and have your iPad set high enough to avoid bending over to see a recipe while cooking. I always love to listen to music while I cook, too, and the sleek design of this set looks beautiful yet unobtrusive in any modern kitchen!
~ Gigi Ross, Everyday Mompreneur Blogger
9.) Hot Chocolate on a Stick. Because duh. It's chocolate. On a stick!
~ Amanda Rodriguez, My Mom is Awesome
10.) I am in love with Uncommon Goods in general, but this etched glassware is my absolute new favorite thing and it has been added to my list of must-haves as well as gifts to give to those I love. They would be a perfect gift for parents who have been married for many years or a newleywed couple spending their first holiday together.
~Nicole Hempeck, EverydayFamily Blog Coordinator
11.) Fill your families' stockings with hope this year! Make a donation of chickens or bees to Heifer International and you will be providing the hope of a better future to a family in need. Heifer International will even send you informational greeting cards to share with your loved ones.
~ Samantha Chase, Preconceived Notions Blogger
12.) The holidays are all about bright lights and glittering tinsel, so why shouldn't you have a little shine of your own? I'm loving glitter nail polishes this holiday season, and this new one from China Glaze, called Pizzazz, is about as festive as you can get! Treat your girlfriends to some holiday glitz of their own for a unique, fun gift.
