EverydayFamily Donates $1000 to Help Fight Pediatric Cancer

“Cancer can take away all my physical abilities. It cannot touch my mind, it cannot touch my heart and it cannot touch my soul. And those three things are going to carry on forever.”  – Jimmy Valvano

Twenty years ago, Jimmy Valvano announced the start of The V Foundation for Cancer Research, with the motto, “Don’t give up. Don’t ever give up.” Since then, “with ESPN’s leadership, The V Foundation has helped carry his dream forward by awarding more than $100 million in cancer research grants.”

If you’ve been an EverydayFamily family member for a while now, you are well aware of our unceasing ambition to raise awareness through the EverydayFamily CARES program, and encourage others to join us in giving back to our communities.  But what you may not know is that the owner and founder of EverydayFamily.com, Noah Anderson, has a large heart. He has made it a focus for EverydayFamily to continually look for ways to join in and support companies and organizations, like St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, that strive to better the lives of children, and their families.

Last week, ESPN and The V Foundation joined with the National Basketball Association and St. Jude’s in the “fight against pediatric cancer by raising awareness and funds to support lifesaving work for children.”

There were many ways one could donate to the cause (It’s almost too easy these days – You can even support this campaign and donate $10 by texting HOPE to 50333!!), and EverydayFamily decided to donate $1000 to The V Foundation.

We wanted to share this with you in hopes that you will be inspired to find your own way to support this organization, or a similar one. All of us here at EverydayFamily are still building our families, and learning along the way. Childhood cancer affects so many … as a parent, and as a member of this community of parents, we have to stick together, help one another, and show our love and support to those families dealing with childhood illnesses, which are beyond their control.

Do you have a special organization that you’re an advocate for? If so, what initially inspired you to support it?
