Do You Need a Breast Massage?

woman receiving breast massageDid you struggle to breastfeed your child? Do you wish your breasts were firmer, larger, or had better muscle tone? Did you know that you can achieve these things, and much more, with a simple breast massage?

In China, only 28% of infants are exclusively breastfed; but officials are hoping to increase that number to 50% throughout the next seven years. One method for this goal? Breast massages.

“Breast massaging is a booming industry in China, but, not surprisingly, most of its practitioners are women,” according to this article.

Yang Jun, 29, one of three registered male breast masseurs in China, said, “It is a rising industry and will be the direction for my development … My parents were opposed and my girlfriend was jealous at the beginning. But for me it is a noble career as it helps babies especially amid the milk powder scandals.”

When your breasts and nipples are sore or engorged, a helpful touch might be all you – and your breasts – need. A technique that involves stroking your breast (with a light, but firm, touch) from the top of the breast down and over the nipple can stimulate your oxytocin. Just like a normal breast examination, you should massage the milk glands in a circular, downward pattern.

And it’s important to know that a breast massage isn’t just for mothers struggling with milk production!

Fluid can build up within your breasts, because they don’t get normal exercise and stimulation. In addition to increased milk supply, breast massages can decrease symptoms of menstrual cramps, unblock any plugged milk glands, enhance the toning of breast muscles, breast firmness (sign me up!), and skin tone, and help to prevent breast cancer. According to this site, “some women massage to stimulate breast growth resulting in a larger cup size.” Seriously. As a woman, this is Need-to-Know Information.

I would consider my boyfriend doing it but it would be a bit awkward having some stranger groping my breast and I definitely wouldn’t pay for it

  2. Rozie says:

This would be the perfect job for my husband. I also don’t think he would be too keen on someone else rubbing my breast for any reason.

  3. EbyMom says:

Definitely no! Why pay someoneelse for a job my husband will be glad to do. It is good that it is only women that do the job even at that those who go should be very careful not to stir up emotions.

  4. Olivia says:

I’ve read about this before but it said to use a warm oil

  5. Tina says:

Did not know, but I don’t think I would pay someone to massage my boobs. That’s what your boyfriend or husband is for right???? I couldn’t see them objecting when asked to do this 🙂

  6. Phammom says:

I did not know this. I would consider this.
