5 Awesome Breakfast Combos for Your Growing Toddler

When you have a toddler, mealtime can sometimes feel like a battle. You want them to eat foods that you know will help them grow up healthy, strong, and happy and they sometimes … don’t. From toddlers who seem to never be hungry to those who would eat crackers all day if you let them, dealing with your child’s particular food preferences and challenges can be tough. Check out the five breakfast combos below that check the major boxes: healthy, filling, and toddler-approved tasty!

1. Eggs, strawberries, and whipped cream

Eggs pack a huge protein punch that will keep your tot full through morning story time and right towards lunch. And strawberries and whipped cream? No tot I know will say no to that sweet treat! 

2. Cheese slices, blackberries, and pancakes 

Pancakes served with a topping of blackberries and with a side of sliced cheese create a balanced, yummy breakfast that your tot will love. Consider switching up the sort of cheese you offer to your kiddo. Or keep a few different kinds of cheese on hand so they can choose.

3. Greek yogurt, raisins, and bacon

Dried fruit is usually majorly popular with younger kids. As is bacon and yogurt. Ask your child to help set the table for even more buy in on this delicious meal. 

4. Oatmeal, blueberries, and a vegetable smoothie 

Oatmeal offers all kinds of delicious benefits. If your kiddo doesn’t like it on its own, consider adding a tiny bit of brown sugar and milk and topping it off with blueberries. A green smoothie adds a colorful punch to this filling meal.

5. Peanut butter toast, bananas, and milk 

Bread is usually a favorite among the under-5 set. Make it more filling by adding peanut butter and, if your kid is comfortable mixing food, sliced bananas. Add a glass of cold milk for a delicious, filling breakfast that will give them the energy they need to play until lunch.
