Blake Lively Is All Of Us Trying To Fit Into Our Pants After The Holidays
Confession: I am a bit obsessed with Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds. I mean seriously, have you ever seen such a perfect couple?
The way that she looked while pregnant on the red carpet? How they seem to always be cracking each other up but also checking each other out? The adorable speeches Ryan makes about her and the pride you hear in his voice when he calls her his wife? I can't even and I'm not even apologizing for that millennial outburst because that's just how strongly I feel about the adorableness of these two.
But in all seriousness, I think I love Blake and Ryan so much just because they seem so down-to-earth. They rocked getting a Hollywood star with their kids looking a little unkempt, just like mine, except in clothes that cost more than my house probably, they seem like the type of people who genuinely just chill at home with their kids, and they seem to really love each other.
And although Blake has a more enviable bod than most mothers of two kids under the age of two, she is still keeping it real about the struggle of getting healthy after having kids.
She posted on Instagram recently about how she is using a special food delivery system to get fit after the holidays:
New Years resolution started early– I WILL fit into my jeans again gall darnet. Thanks @getepicured for making it tasty. This is not an ad. This is me getting it up for healthy food. 🌿💪🏼😬🌿
She also joked about running away from her personal trainer, but let's be honest — she obviously is not getting away with skipping her workouts. The woman filmed a whole movie in a bikini less than four months after giving birth!
I think that it's OK to admit that having babies changes our bodies, even if you're a superstar and super fit woman like Blake Lively and I also think it's OK to talk about getting fit without shaming ourselves as moms. There is a huge difference between being healthy and being skinny and that's where the line can get fuzzy.
As moms, it's important to do what makes us feel our best, for ourselves and for our families, and sometimes that means working a little extra hard to get healthy. I love that Blake can get food prepped for her and honestly, if I had the money, I might do that too. I currently spend a little more than I should on a gym membership just because it makes me feel so much better, both physically and mentally, and I think that it's an important investment.
Bottom line, whichever way you look at it and wherever you may be at in your personal health journey, know that you are not alone. Overweight mothers of four and celebrity mom/wife of Ryan Reynolds included. We got this!
How are you getting healthy in the new year?
