It may feel like summer just started, but if you’re me it’s also more than half way over already.

School is nearly ready to head back in session and since I will be loading all three of my babies on a bus and shipping them off for six hours a day (YAY! SOB! Can you tell my emotions are all mixed up over this?!) I need to get ready.

With a Dude heading to middle school (I swear I’m barely old enough to be his mother) and one also going into kindergarten we have some monumental years to celebrate so I’m making it special by hitting up Etsy for some school supply awesome.

labels

Ananemome:  First of all, coolest shop name ever.  Secondly, kids lose things.  Or, other unsavory kids steal things.  Cool labels make that virtually impossible.  Okay, it doesn't, but they won't get mixed up in the recess pile and the unsavory kid can't claim his mom bought it for him when she was on her cruise to Brazil saving trees or something.

shoe laces

Colour Bazaar: Up the awesome on kids’ kicks with bright and funky shoe laces.  We snag cool laces to motivate our littlest Dudes to learn to tie their shoes.  It works EVERY time!

lunch bag

LeLa Studio: Keep lunch cold and look awesome doing it!  Chic for little chicks who like to get their grub on.

Little Packs: Little dudes like to eat too!  And, they are even more happy to grub when they get to pull it out of something covered in robots, or trucks, or stripey-eared elephants even!

pencil boxes

Mmim: Kids go through tons of pencils, pens, crayons, and markers each school year.  I have no idea where they go.  Maybe they lose them, or they sharpen them to bits or, if it's my kid,  probably eat them.  They need someplace to store them while they have them though, and the cooler the better.

backpack

NORUbag:  The Dudes go through bookbags like crazy.  Probably because they drag them home, and kick them over the fence, and jam sweaty underwear in them, and hide them under their beds.  What?  Please tell me your kids do this.  I don't know why I buy them cool bags, but this one is probably worth it.

lunch notes

Design Orange: I love putting notes in The Dudes’ lunch boxes.  A little love note or something motivational can really change their day from mediocre to amazing.  Or, that’s what I tell myself when I order stuff like this for them because I’m not crafty enough to make them myself.

Amanda has been wowing the Internet since 2008 when she launched her pretty-much-useless guide for parents, parenting BY dummies. As it turns out, her parenting advice is not generally useful for more than a good laugh, but sometimes that’s exactly what you need! Amanda spends her offline time (which is embarrassingly limited) running a photography business, working as a social media director for a local magazine, writing freelance articles about stuff she loves, wrangling her 3 little Dudes ...
