Baby Girl Miraculously Survives Miscarriage and Abortion Pills
So, how about this for the craziest story of the week?
Michelle Hui, a gal from the UK, had just barely hit the six-week mark of her pregnancy of her third child when she had a miscarriage. It was like any other day—she was just headed to work—when she said that she started gushing blood.
“I [called] my husband and told him I was losing the baby,” Hui said. “He couldn't come and get me because he had the other two kids, so I had to walk home.”
As you could imagine, she was devastated that she had to walk home after going through something that no prospective mother wants to have to experience. I don't want to jump to conclusions, but that kind of fires me up that there was “no way” that her husband could give her a ride home.
So, Hui went into the doctor, and they checked her five times to make sure that what she had experienced was actually a miscarriage. Sure enough, there wasn't any sign of life in her womb, so the doctors went ahead and gave Hui two abortion pills so that her uterus would be cleared of anything that could cause an infection.
I'm a male, and I don't pretend to know anything about how this type of situation would affect me, but having a miscarriage and then having to take abortion pills to clean out any remains would ruin me emotionally. From what Hui said, it definitely had that sort of effect on her, too.
“After I lost the baby I went out with friends and had a bottle and a half of wine,” she said. “I was devastated—and drank myself silly. I never ever drink that much. I’m not a drinker.”
When she returned to the hospital to see if there were any blood clots, she was informed that she was going to have to have a D&C in order to clear everything out.
But as the doctors were performing an ultrasound to prep, do you know what they found? They found a heartbeat! An ever-so-faint heartbeat was found.
Not only did this baby completely hide herself from earlier ultrasounds, she survived both the aftermath of her wombmate's miscarriage and a double dose of abortion medication.
How crazy is that?
The clots that they were going in to clear out supposedly created a shadow over the baby, making it impossible to see her. But shadows don't block out heartbeats, do they?
Baby Megan was born completely healthy at just under six pounds.
