Awesome Money Banks for Kids

I was searching for some maneki-neko, one of those Japanese cats that wave, and I stumbled upon some coin banks instead. I found some awesome ones, so I thought I’d share them with you.

This kitty cat in an orange box, is the cutest thing ever. When you place a coin on the fish, the little cat peeks out from its box, and scoops the coin inside of the box for safe keeping.

I'd love to get some of these awesome banks for my kids, but not yet, they're not so gentle with things like this. We made homemade piggy banks instead.

Any Star Wars fan needs this Darth Vader coin vault. Whenever you give him a coin, he makes his signature creepy awesome breathing sounds.

Kids who earn a lot of coins might find this money wrapper bank amazing. You just put the coins n, they get separated into their own coin wrappers. Fun and easy.

I love this little blue pig because it has a spot for everything that the Three Cups taught, making it very convenient for the little ones to keep track of what they have.

The money maze is perfect for a puzzle-loving child. You can put the money in, but getting it out is the tricky part as you have to guide a ball through a maze in order to unlock the bank.

What do you think of these? Would you get any of these for your kids?

My kids used to have some really cute banks until they were broken, fixed, broken again, replaced, and then broken one last time.

My kids love money. They wanted a way to earn the money for stuff they want, so I have made them my little employees, and I pay them for non-chore jobs. Everything that they earn (or find in parking lots) gets divided up into various, homemade piggy banks. See?

They’re not fancy, but they love them because they decorated them, themselves.

These piggy banks aren’t fancy, just a few coffee and Tang cans decorated in kid art, but they’ve really helped my little ones understand how much they can save, and just how quickly they can spend it.

I’m shamelessly attached to Harry Potter; so naturally, I was happy when my kids decided that HP was kind of their thing, too. They’ve been dying to see the ocean, and to go to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter (I won’t deny wanting to go there, myself), so they made a money jar to look like little wizards in a Quidditch match at Hogwarts. All the money they put in here is going toward their magical trip.

The other two banks – the Lego fort and the owl, are for the things that they want, like candy, and toys; namely Legos and owls. There is a little tin there too; this tin is used to keep money handy for when my kids see those red Salvation Army buckets, little donation jars, or someone who is homeless. My kids scream and cry if we pass someone who appears to need something to eat, until I stop so they can give them something.
