Adele Not Sharing Her Son’s Name
In a refreshing change from the typical oversharing of information by some celebrities, Adele is not ready to share her son with the world. Adele, who is notoriously private, confirmed her pregnancy in June, and it is believed she gave birth sometime in October. After giving birth, there were no official press releases or magazine spreads. Adele, who made her first appearance since giving birth at the Golden Globes, talked about how she being a mom has changed her. “I am exhausted, that’s how [motherhood] changed me. I have eczema from boiling bottles,” she says, before adding she is not willing to spill too much about her son.
“I am not sharing his name at the moment. It is very personal to me,” she explains. “I am enjoying him on my own.” The soulful singer was at the Golden Globes because she was nominated and won for Best Original Song for the Skyfall title track. When accepting the reward she said, “Honestly I came for a night out with my friend Ida, we’re new mums. I was not expecting this. Thank you so much. This is for my boyfriend Simon [Konecki] who convinced me to do it and my lovely son. Thank you so much.”
I have always admired Adele for her no nonsense look at fame and her desire to keep some of her most sacred things to herself. While I obviously thrive on celebrity news, I also try to respect the privacy that they deserve. While on one hand, I think that making millions of dollars and choosing a career that puts you in the spotlight comes with some invasion of privacy, I also think that some things are meant to be kept private if a star chooses such as a baby name, pictures, or stats.
What do you think? If you were famous, would you be open about your children?
