Adele Feels Less Stress Now That She Is a Mom
Adele had a great night at the Grammys, wining Best Solo Pop Performance for her hit “Set Fire to the Rain” but her day did not start out like a pampered songstress. The pop star had an early morning wakeup call courtesy of her son. She says, “I’ve been up since 6 a.m. so I’m quite tired, but it’s nice.”
The mom to a baby boy, whose name and birthdate have never been released, reflected on how her life is different now as a mom. She said, “I haven’t been as stressed out. In life, you have to prioritize what you stress about and worry about when you have a child. I’ve been having lots of meetings and I’ve been out of the loop really, I’ve been singing my baby nursery rhymes so I don’t really know what’s cool and what’s not.” So while she has been slowly working on a new album, she feels less inclined to rush, seemingly wanting to enjoy those precious first months of a child’s life.
I admire Adele; she has always seemed so down to earth and normal to me. I think it is great that she is able to prioritize her life with her son. This is something I definitely struggle with; as a mom of three, a wife, a part time employee, and a freelance writer my life is hectic at the best of times. I struggle with having enough time to complete all of my duties while still being a good parent to my children.
In my life, stress certainly has not lessened since having a child; it has grown ten-fold. Perhaps that is because, unlike Adele I don’t have millions of dollars in the bank and the luxury of taking my time?
Do you feel less stress as a parent?
