A 9-year-old girl, Dafne, from just outside of Guadalajara, Mexico has given birth to her own baby girl. The baby came into the world January 27th, weighing 5 pounds and 7ounces via C-section due to the mother’s size and age. Dafne was 8-years-old when she got pregnant by a, now, 17-year-old boy.

The authorities are searching for the father because they believe that the girl was raped or abused but the girl’s mother didn’t report the pregnancy to the police because she doesn’t think it’s a crime. Dafne claims that she and the father of her baby are involved in a relationship together. She loves him. They were a couple.

Oddly enough, the boy didn’t know that the girl was pregnant until she did, when she was 7 months pregnant because why would a 9-year-old have any understanding of what a pregnancy feels like? He asked her to move in with him. She said no. He left town. This shows you the level of maturity involved with these children who made this baby.

I am not really shocked stuff like this still happens its just that maybe her mkm happened same or married a kid or teen and maybe her grandma too and until someone in their family puts and end to this chain the girls wont b saved from having kids. In places like this and other countries too wer they still dont evolve in a state of mind of a girl marring an older guy still happens till this day the girls get kidnapped then years later they comeback w kids and the guy who stoled them to visit and they act like hey this dude stole my daughter his here lets call the police no they think its naturals kuz its their life style maybe happened to them its just the people how theh make their life one cant cant change their life we can try but still it will happen. Change can only happen if it starts with them.

  2. richardhicks says:

I believe that the mother should be held responsible somehow seems like child abuse to a degree?

  3. Caroline says:

Just not right.. Kids having kids… Thats what the world is coming to..

  4. Chelsea says:

Yikes! This is a big NO-NO!! I understand it was most likely a rape but still!! Yikes!!

  5. Laura says:

Now i am not sure what to believe…I just googled this, out of curiosity of the outcome and such, and found this…I read the whole thing with my mouth hanging wide open. Sounds like a bunch of crazies….

  6. Laura says:

Reading this, every single 9 year old I know was coming to mind, and none of them are responsible enough to raise a child or to even be involved in sexual relationships with ANYONE. I have seen a few 9-12 year olds who make me sick with how they talk, and act (inappropriate) but it all boils down to the parents. A 9 year old would not be doing things as a todays 17 year old if the parents didnt allow them to be involved in such adult things (television, music, games, magazines, etc.) or if the parents would talk to their child about the importance of their childhood and body! The image drawn in my head of this 9 year old and a 17 year old having such a relationship really upsets me,I can hardly imagine what was going through this child’s mothers mind allowing this, allowing the unsupervised time, and not pressing charges. So many questions come up in my mind…what was the 17 year old thinking? what was the 9 year old thinking? what was the parents doing when this happened? what will happen to the poor baby? OMG! The questions just keep coming.
the first thing i did when reading the age difference between the “couple” was calculate the years between. 7-8 years age difference. there is a 6 year age difference between my parents, but they didnt get involved till they were both old enough and mature enough to handle such adult things. Age is just a number, but developmentally and maturity and physically are all important here. A 9 year old body is still developing and the mind is still learning, a 9 year old body needs to wait till it is an adult body before participating in adult things! the adults in the 9 year olds life really screwed up her life.

  7. Ivy says:

So where was this mother of a 9 year old girl where she was alone long enough for a 17 year old perv to be able to violate her? Does anyone remember being 9 and thinking of sex and babies and wanting that, understanding what needs to be done to get pregnant, go through pregnancy and then deliver and raise it? I highly doubt it. How dare this mother be ok with it. And now she is going to somewhat raise a granddaughter who I wouldnt be surprised ends up the same way; violated. Its so sad that there are children going through this. I read the youngest father was 13 years old and he looked younger than 13, a little boy. Who but sick people would pursue them for sexual needs. Oh my I cant say enough about how disgusting these sickos are. I have a little girl myself and I will do my best for something like this to not happen to her.

  8. cassie says:

Sooo….I had just read a comment where somebody noted the youngest girl to get pregnant was 5! My daughter is almost 5 & my step-daughter is 8. I couldn’t imagine either of them having to go through any of what led up to that situation. I feel bad for the mother of the 9 year old because I would imagine her probably suffering through some of what the 9 year old had; we dont know her age, she could barely be 18 for all we know. Here she is thinking its okay for her young child to have a baby, she must’ve really went through something herself to be so ignorant to the situation. And for the 9 year old, its a different world compared to our comfortable American living. She probably made abwonderful choice not to move it with a person who is at an age of accountability. He knew what he was doing, who knows what kind of “father” he would turn out to be, perhaps “robbing his own cradle.” Now, as far as the baby goes, may God always be at her side and have favor over her little being; keeping her protected from all perversions. Just pray for these individuals. It seems as though they have had their fair share of hardships. Be that somebody to pray for them because maybe they had nobody before.

  9. Ivonne says:

Oh no, this is just unbelievable.

  10. Georgie says:

Ok this isn’t the greatest article I’ve read but I have read something that was a lot worse than this, I’ve always wondered what peoples opinions on these kinds of subjects would be. There has been quite a bit of different opinions on the matter which is expected. I believe that there really isn’t a right or wrong answer on this subject because there are people that have relationships with each other that are years apart from each other. The main difference is that it is much later in life that we notice these types of relationships. I guess that it doesn’t matter how old you are in this kind of relationship because even as adults it would still be looked down upon. I have noticed that we all may have our own opinions on this subject but to prevent it as parents ourselves, we need to take steps to lead our children in the right direction and hope for the best.

Although in “America” it is seen as wrong on all levels. Other cultures have different opinions, values, and lifestyles. Yes I do in OWN personal opinion think that it was wrong, millions of Americans do the same thing, its just not advertised. #ijs

  19. Tiffany says:

This just pushed all the wrong buttons. I hardly ever swear but this got me mad as hell. Poor excuse for a mother………….. I’m very upset

  20. Alyssa says:

the fact that this little girl had a child is due to the lack of law enforcement in Mexico. Children are victims of sexual abuse, and these perpetrators are almost never punished for their very wrong doings. its sickening honestly that this little girl has to go threw something like this.

  21. Haley says:

Personally, I didn’t even realize that a child that age could be pregnant. I thought you had to have a period. I feel like her child should be taken and put up for adoption so they will not be raised by a child at that age. Her mother should be locked up for life for letting something like that happen to her baby girl!

    • Rebecca says:

Actually a child can be impregnated before having a menstrual cycle. In fact baby girls start producing eggs while in their mother’s wombs. The youngest girl to get pregnant is 5 years old. It is truly sickening, that there are monsters out there that prey on our children’s innocence.

    • Heide says:

I got my period at 8. Just saying.

  22. tamie says:

I fully agree that children both boys and girls should start being taught about there bodys and what is proper and where things should take place and the truth about sex at a level the child can understand for there age the more sex is keep as a secret or as tabo or a bad thing the more kids want to learn about it and they are so much better off learning it at home than on the school bus or play ground

  23. Tahkaney says:

I agree with Brittany. I knew understood a lot of things before Dafne’s age. I know I would have a problem with such an age gap between kids being “in a relationship” (let’s be real, even adults are still trying to figure out what it means to be in one) but I personally think it’s important to not shelter your kids from knowing about the consequences of certain actions and how serious those actions are. I personally don’t approve of keeping children in the dark about the reality of the world around them (which includes that not everyone is married and has a masters degree before having a family) when it comes to this stuff. My mom drilled me, did I particularly want to listen to her all the time, no, but I was prepared when my menstrual period came. If your daughter gets it early, I think the responsible thing to do is have those types of important conversations.

At the end of the day, this is a sad story, but not everyone has a conventional life. I want to know how the mother didn’t realize Dafne was pregnant. I don’t approve of her mothering skills, but just because Dafne is young doesn’t mean her life is over and there’s no hope for her child as well. All we can do is pray because finger pointing gets nowhere.

  24. Brittany says:

I’m sorry but you can judge her parents you don’t even know if they knew. Some people also mature faster so you don’t know her mentality. You should say they baby needs to be protected for being raised by a child. I believe the baby should be with the mother no matter the age. Just because your child is not mature you shouldn’t judge other kids. I understood all of that at a younger age than Dafne. I just chose to not let anyone mess with me and also hadn’t started at that age. Cultures are different so get over it.

    • mamaZ says:

This is upsetting, horrible, and heartbreaking!

I have seen/known young girls becoming mothers at young age, youngest ever being 13!
Although you may be right about everyone’s mental age/mentality is different, no 8 year old can fully mother a child and the example she has to follow is her mother.
Your defense for the Dafne, I hear where you’re coming from; but the mother, she had to know after all shes obviously carried and birthed a child before. And although it might have been well after becoming pregnant, responsibility as a parent is to nurture and *protect*.

    • mamaZ says:

      are you a mommy?!?
      This is heartbreaking! Upsetting.

    • Kim says:

Umm it says in the article that Dafnes mother didn’t report the pregnancy to the police because she didn’t think it was a crime… Hello!!! She was EIGHT, that is psychotic to think it’s okay no
Matter the culture! Just because it’s a different culture doesn’t mean that rape/molestation is socially acceptable, that is offensive of you to even insinuate. Also, I don’t know what world
You live in that 8year olds are sexually active. I didn’t even French kiss a Boy until I was a teenager. 8 is too young to be left alone with a 16-17 yr old boy too. How is that ok??? My parents would never allow me to be around a boy that wasn’t family alone. And you’re getting on the writer for judging… But you’re judging her..and saying her child is immature because she’s not a sexually active child?!?! I am seriously flabbergasted at what your “norms” are. The end!

  25. Destiny says:

I feel so bad for her(Dafne). Her whole life has been compromised by the one women who is suppose to protect her in life.
