If you parent like me, then you rely on sarcasm, truth, and humor to get you through most everything. Here are five books every mom needs to read. These books will help you to unwind, keep you grounded, laughing, and feeling like a semi-sane mom.

Written by Adam Mansbach and illustrated by Ricardo Cortes, this hysterical bedtime parody gives tired parents just the laugh they're looking for. Obviously not one for the kiddies, so keep it up high because the beautifully colorful pictures will have toddlers taking a second look.

Author Jenn Mann's favorite thing to do is tell it like it is on her blog People I want to Punch in the Throat. Karen Alpert's popular blog, Baby Sideburns, set the stage for her 2013 originally self-published mommy memoir. The book is chock full of straight-talk, wit, and profanity at its finest. Alpert's newest book, I Want My Epidural Back, was released April 2016 and received rave reviews as well.
