4 Tips for Coordinating Your Kids’ Outfits on a Budget
There’s nothing I love more than over the top, adorable matching sibling outfits. When my sister and I were kids, my parents would often dress us in matching holiday outfits, swimsuits, and everyday clothes. While I (as the little sister) certainly loved it more than her at the time, we both now enjoy looking back on pictures of our matching selves. These days I love creating coordinated outfits for my boys. But, with kids who grow quicker than I can buy and a limited budget, I’ve had to get creative to coordinate their outfits on the cheap. Check out the tips below to help your kids look fresh on a budget!
Go for solid colors
Purchasing fully matching outfits from brand name stores can quickly get pricey. Instead, buy a few solid colored t-shirts and basic khakis or jeans to jump start your matching collection without the major price tag. When your kids have basics that match it’s easy to pull off coordinated outfits without spending a ton.
Kids often have their own personal style. So, consider letting them select their tops and bottoms. Then you can add in some matching flair to brighten their outfits up. It’s much more affordable to purchase matching hair bows, bow ties, or shoes than it is to ensure their whole outfits are the same.
Splurge on something they’ll wear often
I usually won’t spend big bucks to make sure my kids match every day. But there are some things that are worth the money. My boys always have matching formal outfits (we go to A LOT of weddings). We also do matching holiday clothes and matching summer swimsuits. This summer my boys will be rocking adorable pelican print Snapper Rock swimmies and I couldn’t be happier.
There’s nothing I love more than cuddling up with my boys for stories and songs at the end of the day. Nothing, that is, except seeing my kiddos in matching jammies cuddling up with one another. Pajamas are usually the most affordable outfit to buy as a set for your kids and often lead to big grins all around when they wear them.
