Baby Activities – Week 9

Baby massages can be an enjoyable activity – for you and your little one. There are books and articles offering instruction, but even a simple rubdown with lotion following a bath has benefits.

If you want to incorporate massages, make sure the room is warm and comfortable. Talk or sing to your baby as you gently stroke her skin – watching closely for any cues that she is feeling unhappy. This can become a nice way to follow each bath and to soothe your baby before bedtime.

An on-going conversation with your baby (even if you are the only one talking) will help her develop her identity. Tell her about your childhood, things you did with your family as a child, and anything else you want to tell her!
