Baby Activities – Week 6

Movement can help soothe a colicky baby – or any fussy little one, for that matter. Bouncing on an exercise ball while cradling your infant, or laying your baby over your knees while you jiggle your legs, can quiet a fussy babe (and may start burning away those leftover pregnancy pounds!). Keep it gentle – it should be a light motion, nothing that jostles your baby too much, or puts stress on her fragile neck muscles.

Do you have a play gym? A play gym gives a baby toys to look at, reach for, swipe at, and work on coordination. If you do have one, get on the floor, next to your baby, and play with him!

Wearing your baby in a sling, carrier, or wrap, can bring many benefits to you and your little one. Try going out a few times to the park, the local mall, or even a walk around the block, and see what wonders this can bring to you two.
